I always loved music. As a kid I collected records, tapes and CDs. I see deejaying as a way to express myself musically.
What do you LOVE about deejaying? So many aspects I love about my job. Meeting the clients, the day of the event, playing the music, the amazing food, seeing how different cultures express love. The little things like seeing the first dance, childeren dancing, cake, hearing touching speeches, etc. I could go on and on.
What do you like to do in your spare time?
Dance, boogie board, love trying new food, hang out with friends and family.
What advice would you give for hosting a great event?
Hire professionals!

You could say that Nick Alvarado was destined to be a DJ. At just five years old, Nick heard the part in “You Be Illin” when DJ Jam Master Jay scratches the record and suddenly declared, “I want to learn how to do that!”
The DJ in him was born that day and has been alive ever since.
Nick began DJing when he was in the seventh grade- although at the time, he didn’t realize he was actually doing it. Simply wanting to play music for friends, he began bringing bags of cassette tapes to parties and gradually picked up the equipment he needed while in high school. He quickly booked every weekend and by his junior year, he had played every club in the area.
Nick honed his craft during a residency at the famous Circus disco every Thursday night, learning to mix flawlessly and the art of hypnotizing a crowd. In 2010, he connected with his good friend and mobile DJ, Ryan, who referred weddings to him. Since that time, he’s added six DJs to the operation and launched Event Professionals of SoCal, meeting on a monthly basis to share industry tips.
Today, SoCal Mobile DJ is a premier mobile DJ company specializing in weddings and corporate events and serving all of Southern California, Los Angeles, Orange County and San Bernardino County. Nick and his colleagues are dedicated to providing excellent the very best service in the region.
Nick serves as the president of The Event Professionals, as well as a committed member of the Elite Wedding Team in Long Beach. He loves meeting new people, networking and building an industry-leading business. He also loves weddings, cherishing the moments he witnesses – parents dancing with their children, heartfelt toasts and of course, the couples having the time of their lives.
